Between the Antlers

Between the Antlers, located between the steel mill and Front street, on a bluff called Vinegar Hill on the Sampit River, in the heart of Georgetown with a damn good view. George Washington drank rum here in 1791 when it was a federal wharf. We hope you come visit us and all the restaurants here and realize why this is the greatest place in the world . But please don’t tell anybody.

You enter Bistro 217 at the courtyard, where wrought iron tables are ringed by painted brick walls and sheltered by sturdy reinforced canvas. The space can be enclosed with zippered plastic drops, or opened to allow balmy beach breezes. Well-maintained plants add color, ivy crawls along the walls, and diffused natural light provides a Zen-like aura.

Buzz’s Roost

Buzz ran what was formerly called the “Roost” on Front Street for years, until he met his demise early one morning out on the docks. Buzz unfortunately had a little too much ale for breakfast when he slipped off the back dock and was eaten by alligators. Since that day there has always been a sign posted out back that says “No Drinks Beyond This Point” because we want to feed you lunch, not feed you to the alligators…

Frank’s Restaurant opened in 1988 in the historic landmark of Marlow’s Supermarket. Frank Marlow operated a supermarket on the site for 40 years and upon his retirement, Salters McClary renovated the building and opened for business. Frank’s has set the standard!

River Room

For more than thirty years, locals and visitors have enjoyed the historic waterfront ambiance and “Serious Seafood” of Georgetown’s River Room Restaurant at 801 Front Street where it intersects with Broad Street. We offer casual Southern coastal dining at its finest. Reservations are not accepted; simply visit us for lunch between 11 am and 2:30 pm, or for dinner from 5 until 10 pm, Mondays through Saturdays. On Sundays we rest. Plenty of parking is available on Front Street, and our gorgeous historic district beckons for before- or after-dining strolls. Many visitors arrive by boat and use the spacious public dock.

Chef Kirby's menu at Bistro 217 exemplifies his culinary talents and wide-ranging influences. His style of cuisine is described as Southern and Pacific Rim by some, and described as delicious by all. Chef Kirby has been with the restaurant since it opened in 2004, and the menu has expanded quite a bit during the last six years. "I love to create new, exciting and flavorful dishes. I will often have a nightly special and will sometimes incorporate them into the menu permanently. I want to present a menu that has something for everyone, whether it is a lunch or dinner." In addition, Chef Kirby prides himself on utilizing consistently fresh ingredients and not cutting any corners.

"Step into the Thomas Café on 703 Front Street in Georgetown and you might think you’d stepped back in time. This charming diner hasn’t changed much since it opened more than 75 years ago; loyal locals like it that way. Open for breakfast and lunch, Thomas Café caters to a regular downtown business crowd that comes to share stories and enjoy the traditional Southern fare. The reasonable prices make it an easy place to visit over and over again. Tony’s Famous Pizza

Tony Papadopoulos came to the US from Greece where he started working as a dishwasher and short order cook. Learning the ins and outs of the restaurant industry led him to open his own business. The first Tony's Famous Pizza was opened in Georgetown, SC in 1979 with the help of his family. The second location was opened in Andrews, SC in 1995. Tony's has grown exponentially over the years, but one thing has remained: fresh, quality food.
